CG 24 04 — Transfer of Rights of Recovery (Waiver of Subrogation)

Prevents the subcontractor's insurance carrier from suing the General Contractor or Property Owner to recover claim payouts.

⚠️ The Underwriting Trap

Without a valid Waiver of Subrogation endorsement attached to General Liability and Workers' Comp, the sub's insurer can pay a worker's medical bills and immediately sue the GC to recoup the cash.

✅ General Contractor Remedy

Ensure the COI has the 'SUBR WVD' checkbox marked 'Y' AND contains the mandatory ISO CG 24 04 form endorsement attached to the policy.

Standard ISO Policy Wording

We waive any right of recovery we may have against the person or organization shown in the Schedule because of payments we make for injury or damage arising out of your ongoing operations or 'your work'.
